Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on March 15, 1989 at the State University of New York at Albany by seventeen dedicated women of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Realizing the apathy toward Latina women, they came together to create an outlet for women to initiate change. They set the foundation to fight against the injustices historically suffered by our gender. Since then our organization has quickly grown over the years as well as establishing chapters and collectives throughout Northeast, Eastern Seaboard, Midwest and West Coast.
OPBSI is an academic and community service based sorority that consists of a diverse membership of women who celebrate womanhood through a common goal of creating new standards for women in today’s society through education and community involvement.
